Today at Dykehead Crafty Bible club we looked at some instructions given to an Old Testament Bible character - Naaman!
Naaman was a great commander in the army but he found he had a terrible problem, he had leprosy - an infectious, incurable and debilitating disease in his time. When the Israelite servant girl in the house suggested God’s prophet might be able to help, Naaman went to see him.
Elisha the prophet gave instructions to dip 7 times in the River Jordan. Naaman wasn’t impressed - the Jordan was a filthy river. After some gentle persuasion from his servants he decided to try and on the seventh time dipping in the river he emerged with clean and perfect skin! Following God’s instructions had cured Him!
God also gives us instructions for the cure of our heart problem; sin. He says to repent (say sorry), turn from our sin and trust Him and He will forgive our sin and make us clean, pure and ready for Heaven.
The children then carefully followed instructions to make some bath bombs as a reminder of Naaman’s ‘bath’ in the river Jordan!
Much fun was had by all!
