3rd Shotts BB had another fantastic session last night.
We started off by reading a verse from God’s Word, the Bible before praying our BB prayer. The boys were congratulated for the way in which they conducted themselves at the Remembrance Service on Sunday and for their help to make up shoeboxes for this year’s Shoebox Appeal alongside the Sunday School.
We then had our Scripture lesson. Sean taught the boys about the Full Armour of God which we find in Ephesians 6. The boys initially thought about some jobs which may require a uniform and then they learned that the Armour of God was a little bit like a uniform only we don’t put it on physically. We learned about all of the various parts of the uniform and how they have been given by God to protect His people. His people being those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ for Salvation, as we were reminded. David – James kindly volunteered to wear some physical pieces of armour to help the boys learn what was being shared.
Our theme continued with our games. Yvette led the boys in a very fun and interactive activity. Two of our officers, Jim and Andrew stood at one end of the hall whilst two teams of boys sat at the other with lots of different items of clothing for each officer. It was then a race to dress each officer following Yvette’s instructions. We really think Andrew’s scarf brings out the colour of his eyes!!
Our third section is our craft time. The boys made a shield to remind them of what they learned about the Shield of Faith.
A great evening!
