This evening at BB we began our session by assembling in our squads. The boys were congratulated for how well they did at the enrolement service. We then had our opening reading and prayer.
One of our boys was then tasked with taking a 'very dangerous' item out of a box that Rev. Phil brought along. Of course, Thomas needed to put on all of the PPE for safety purposes! It turned out the dangerous items was an intimation tongue. Rev Phil spoke to the boys about the Bible's frequent warnings about how our words can cause lots of harm to others such as upset and hurt and can be very dangerous. One of the verses was from
Prov 18:21 -
'The tongue has the power of life and death..'
We also thought about how our words can encourage others which is what we should strive to do. We finished by thinking about the importance of using our tongues to tell others about Jesus and what He did on the cross of Calvary so that we can be saved.
The boys then moved onto their games. We had flags around the hall and when Martin called out a country, the boys had to run to the corresponding flag. The boys were reminded that the BB is in operation across the UK and beyond and that following their enrolement, they were now members of this wonderful organisation.
The boys practiced their marching once again ahead of their involvement at the Community Remembrance Service on Sunday.
BB concluded with our craft. The boys cut around drawings of their hands which formed part of their wreaths as pictured below.
God is good!
